The 3×3 aligner with wire extensions is an excellent appliance for aligning the incisors as needed. The wire extensions are added to provide retention. Minimal acrylic allows this appliance to be relatively flexible which can also be key for realigning incisors if a patient does not wear a retainer for and extended amount of time. This appliance is also often used for simple retention of the incisors and cuspids after treatment because it is very easy to wear.
The spring aligner can be used on the mandibular arch for retention 3×3 and also minor tooth movement. If the patient doesn’t wear the retainer for some time and teeth rotate, wearing the spring aligner again will correct the misaligned teeth.
